Thursday, July 17, 2025
Synopsis: -
At the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, Metinvest Group unveiled four visionary “Steel Dream” projects to rebuild neighbourhoods in Bakhmut, Mariupol, Trostyanets & Hlukhiv. Supported by local mayors & led by Tetiana Skrypka, the plans blend modular, frame & platform steel designs for quick, eco-friendly reconstruction. Attracting donors & investors, these concepts promise not only infrastructure revival but also restoration of community identity, culture & hope.

Visionary Ventures & Vibrant Voices Vow Renewal
The Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on 10 & 11 July became a crucible for hope as Metinvest Group presented its ambitious “Steel Dream” concepts. With over 1,000 participants including government officials, business leaders & international agencies, the conference aimed to catalyse swift rebuilding of Ukraine’s war-torn cities. “We are not just offering blueprints, we are offering a promise to help communities rise again,” said Tetiana Skrypka, head of external projects at Metinvest Sichstal.
Mayoral Mandates & Meticulous Models Meet Momentum
In a striking moment, mayors from Bakhmut-Hoshcha, Mariupol-Bila Tserkva & Trostyanets presented these detailed visions at the Communities pavilion. Their presentations were more than speeches, they were heartfelt appeals rooted in local pride & resilience. Yuriy Bova, mayor of Trostyanets, shared, “For Trostyanets, the ‘Steel Dream’ is a powerful & effective tool. It has allowed us to reach a new level of negotiations with international partners. Having such a detailed plan is exactly what is expected of us on the global stage.”
Conceptual Craftsmanship & Circular Construction Catalyse Change
At the Business Fair stage, Tetiana Skrypka explained how “Steel Dream” is built around three steel technologies—modular, frame & platform. This approach ensures speed, flexibility & strength. “Our team developed over 200 standard projects covering residential & social infrastructure, ready for immediate use,” Tetiana said. She added, “98% of the steel is recyclable, making it both an economic & environmentally responsible solution.”
Symbolic Spaces & Social Synergy Shape Urban Stories
Each concept integrates cultural memory & community spirit. Hlukhiv’s “Circle of Life” features parks connecting nature & education, encouraging shared spaces that bind people together. Trostyanets’s “Point of Unity” will merge the city’s industrial, cultural & ecological heritage into a single living ecosystem. “It’s not just about buildings; it’s about identity,” said Tetiana. For Mariupol families relocated to Bila Tserkva, “Lines of Life” creates thematic paths symbolising new social connections. In Bakhmut’s project in Hoshcha, familiar zones & symbols like Rose Alley preserve local character.
Speed, Sustainability & Strategic Steel Secure Support
Metinvest’s steel methods promise quick construction thanks to prefabrication, design adaptability & long-lasting durability. “These are not just structures; they are resilient homes built for generations,” Tetiana emphasised. Alongside design, Metinvest supports local councils by guiding them through funding applications, preparing documents & managing construction processes. “We aim to be true partners, walking alongside cities from concept to completion,” she said.
Investor Interest & International Involvement Ignite Initiative
Thanks to detailed designs & clear roadmaps, the projects have already sparked meetings with potential investors & global agencies. The conference focused on mobilising business, nurturing human capital & integrating regions into European frameworks. The mayors’ direct engagement added weight, demonstrating local commitment matched by Metinvest’s technical expertise. “It’s truly rewarding to see hard work recognised & to feel genuine interest in bringing these visions to life,” Tetiana reflected.
Holistic Hope & Heritage Harmonised into Housing Horizons
Beyond concrete & steel, “Steel Dream” aspires to heal communities, renew cultural roots & restore pride. The synergy between fast, modular construction & designs that reflect local stories makes the approach unique. Tetiana concluded, “We are offering more than plans; we are building hope, identity & future resilience. Together, we can transform devastation into living, thriving neighbourhoods.”
