Brazilian mining giant Vale & European hydrogen company Green Energy Park announced a collaboration to develop a green hydrogen production facility in Brazil for manufacturing low-carbon steel products. The joint initiative will construct a 'Mega Hub' industrial complex enabling international steel companies to source hot-briquetted iron produced using renewable hydrogen as reducing agent. This approach can reduce carbon emissions by 80% compared to traditional blast furnace methods, supporting global steel sector decarbonization goals while leveraging Brazil's abundant renewable energy resources.
