Candelaria Steel Inc., under SteelAsia, received Green Lane Certification from the Philippine Board of Investments for its ₱30-billion ($508 million) heavy steel recycling mill in Quezon. Scheduled to begin by July 2027, it will use Electric Arc Furnace technology to recycle local scrap, cut CO₂ emissions by at least 70%, & produce up to one million metric tons yearly. The project aims to reduce import dependency, support major infrastructure projects, & create thousands of jobs, boosting the domestic steel sector.
