A fire has halted production at the Ferriere Nord steel plant in Italy. The blaze started in an electrical transformer room and took hours to extinguish. The plant, owned by the Pittini Group, is a major producer of construction steel and employs over 1,500 people. Production will remain suspended until damage assessments are complete.
