The transaction involves purchasing Prosperity Kingsfield Ltd from Guangzhou Airport Industrial Investment Group, which holds Stemcor's ownership. Stemcor, one of the world's largest independent steel traders based in London, sourced & delivered 2.8 million metric tons in 2024, generating $1.8 billion revenue. The acquisition provides CITIC immediate access to Stemcor's global trading network across Europe, Americas, Asia-Pacific & Middle East, enabling transformation from product supplier to comprehensive solutions provider.
