Wang Yang from HBIS Group & Ge Lei from Tangshan Vocational College won the industry & student categories of the steelChallenge-20 World Championship in Berlin on April 13, 2026. The seven-hour competition used the steeluniversity electric arc furnace simulator, challenging participants to optimise steel production under sustainability constraints. Ten finalists from five regions competed for the global titles. The competition is now in its twentieth year & draws participants from steel producers & universities worldwide.
