The World Steel Association welcomed seven new regular members at its Special General Meeting in Berlin on April 14, 2026, spanning Egypt, South Korea, Guatemala, Spain, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, & the United States. Austrian research center K1-MET GmbH joined as an affiliated member. Dr. Henrik Adam, a veteran of Tata Steel Europe & thyssenkrupp, will become Director General from mid-Q4 2026, succeeding Dr. Edwin Basson after more than 15 years of leadership.
