Vale's Verdant Voyage & Ethanol's Epochal Maritime Emergence
Vale plans to launch the world's first transoceanic ethanol-powered ship for iron ore delivery by 2029. The Brazilian mining giant uses sugarcane ethanol, which cuts lifecycle carbon emissions by up to seventy percent compared to conventional marine fuels. The move responds to tightening global shipping emissions rules & growing demand from steel mills for greener supply chains. If successful, the vessel could set a new standard for low-carbon bulk shipping worldwide.
