SMS group will supply Xiangtan Iron & Steel with a new four-strand bloom caster capable of producing the company's largest-ever bloom sizes. The CCM#12 machine measures 450 by 530 millimeters, serving automotive and renewable energy markets requiring premium steel quality. Advanced features include a 250 kilonewton metre Dynamic Mechanic Soft Reduction system and multiple electromagnetic stirrers ensuring internal soundness. Commissioning is scheduled for December 2026, expanding Xiangtan's high-end production capacity.
