Speaking in Vienna, the company's EU representative cites missing renewable energy capacity, absent import infrastructure, and high costs as key barriers. Austrian steelmaker voestalpine takes a different approach, choosing electrification over hydrogen. Both companies agree that strong policy support is essential to make green steel production commercially competitive.
