Chinese steelmaker Fulun Iron & Steel has commissioned an upgraded round billet continuous casting machine, boosting its ability to produce high-quality specialty steel feedstock. The new equipment uses advanced electromagnetic stirring and precision cooling to meet the strict quality demands of seamless pipe and specialty bar customers. Material yield improves to nearly ninety-nine percent, cutting energy use and carbon dioxide emissions per metric ton produced. The upgrade positions Fulun to serve China's fast-growing oil and gas and automotive sectors with premium steel products.
