Zunyi Changling Special Steel has successfully completed the first heat on its new Danieli Zerobucket Electric Arc Furnace in January 2026. The 100-ton continuous-charging system eliminates traditional scrap buckets, enabling 30-minute tap-to-tap times while reducing mechanical stress and improving energy efficiency. The project, contracted in mid-2023, strengthens Danieli's Chinese footprint, with 31 Zerobucket references accumulated since 2018. The installation positions Changling to enhance production flexibility, reduce operating costs, and improve environmental performance through optimised scrap utilisation and reduced energy consumption per metric ton.
