Sombre Smelting Slump Stifles Steel Sector Surge

International Steels Limited, Pakistan’s leading flat steel producer, has launched a 6.4 megawatt solar power facility at its Karachi site. The project, completed in a year, generates over 8 million kilowatt-hours of renewable energy annually, equivalent to powering more than 3,000 households. CEO Samir M. Chinoy stated it reflects ISL’s commitment to responsible growth and climate-conscious manufacturing. The project reduces carbon dioxide emissions by thousands of metric tons yearly and supports multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals, setting a precedent for Pakistan’s industrial sector.
