Norway’s Amon Maritime has launched Amon Bulk, a new company dedicated to building the world’s first ammonia-fueled deep-sea bulk carriers. Backed by $24 million in funding from Enova, the Norwegian energy transition agency, the project plans to deliver two vessels, one Capesize and one Kamsarmax, by 2029. These ships will emit no CO₂, placing them at the frontier of zero-emission shipping. This move highlights Norway’s leadership in green maritime innovation and sets a precedent for global industry transformation
