The Czech Republic's Třinec Ironworks has strongly backed the EU's new plan to protect the steel industry. The company says the proposed tariffs and import quotas are the first good news for the sector in three years. Třinec urged the EU to adopt the rules quickly, by January 2026. The move aims to defend European steel against cheap imports and high energy prices.
