Tata Steel UK has welcomed the British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme (BICS), which aims to reduce electricity costs for foundational industries. The scheme could lower costs by £35-£40 per MWh, enhancing the competitiveness of UK manufacturing during the transition to a low-carbon economy. Tata Steel's Head of Public Affairs, Tom Evans, emphasized the importance of this initiative for sustaining jobs and promoting regional economic strength, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable steel production.
