Steel company Outokumpu supports a European Union plan to strengthen trade defenses. The plan would cut steel import quotas by half and double tariffs on excess imports. Outokumpu says this is needed to protect Europe's greener steel industry. The company uses mostly recycled materials, giving its steel a much lower carbon footprint than the global average.
