German Steel’s Stalemate: Stalled Salary Symposiums Spur Strike Specter
A third round of wage talks for Germany's steel industry has ended without a deal. Employers offered a 1.2% pay increase, but the IG Metall union rejected it. The union is now threatening to hold warning strikes starting October 1. The negotiations cover around 60,000 workers in northwestern Germany.
