French industrial engineering company Fives Group signed a major contract with China's Yongfeng Group to supply three advanced annealing furnaces for a new steel facility in Linyi, Shandong Province. The Stein Digiflex® furnaces will equip two continuous galvanizing lines and one continuous annealing line producing high-grade flat steel products including exposed and non-exposed automotive sheets and advanced high-strength steels. The furnaces incorporate the latest AdvanTek® combustion system delivering energy efficiency, fuel flexibility, and low emissions. They also feature FlashCooling® rapid cooling technology capable operating with high hydrogen gas concentrations. Stéphane Mehrain, Fives vice president, stated that the project represents the beginning of long-term cooperation with Yongfeng, with process technologies designed to meet demanding metallurgical targets and surface quality requirements for galvanized steel products. The contract demonstrates European process technology's continued relevance in China's increasingly sophisticated steel industry.
