Teutonic Turmoil: KTF Cuts Kindle Germany's Green Grief

Germany's steel industry has warned that planned cuts to the Climate and Transformation Fund could harm the sector's green transition. The government's 2027 draft budget redirects two point seven billion euros in carbon market revenues away from the fund into the general budget. WV Stahl says this risks cancelling out recently introduced electricity price support measures. The industry association insists industrial electricity prices must stay at fifty euros per megawatt-hour to keep Germany competitive and on track for climate-neutral steel production by 2045
