Beleaguered Britannia's Baffling Bulwark & Business's Bane
British business groups are urging the government to revise new steel import rules before they take effect on July first, twenty twenty-six. The measures cut duty-free quotas by sixty percent & raise over-limit tariffs to fifty percent. Manufacturers warn that specialist steel grades they rely on simply cannot be sourced domestically. The policy has also strained trade relations, India hinting it may renegotiate its newly signed free trade deal, the UK over the issue.
