Turkey now produces 70% of its steel via electric arc furnaces, far above the global average. This has helped its exports to the EU rise, hot-rolled coil jumped 34% and rebar grew 22% in May, thanks to efficiency, lower costs, and favorable quotas. As the steel sector increasingly values sustainability, Turkey’s EAF-heavy approach positions it strongly in the evolving European market.
