Voestalpine advances its Donawitz electric arc furnace project, a cornerstone of Austria's green steel drive. The EAF will melt scrap using green electricity, cutting CO₂ emissions significantly. The initial €1.5 billion greentec steel programme targets 30% emission cuts by 2029. A further €100 million expansion could boost capacity to 1.5 million tonnes by 2030. This transition secures over 5,000 jobs, modernising steel production.
