Vattenfall Eldistribution received a concession to build two new power lines connecting SSAB's steel plant in Luleå to the electricity grid. The approximately 11-kilometre lines will be constructed from 2027 and commissioned in early 2029. The infrastructure supports SSAB's transition from blast furnace production to electric steelmaking. This transformation is expected to eliminate 10% of Sweden's total CO₂ emissions.
