Samarco has started receiving wind energy for its iron ore operations in Brazil. The power comes from the Serra do Tigre Wind Complex and arrived earlier than expected. This clean energy will supply about thirty percent of the company's electricity needs. The project will help avoid nearly 2.5 million metric tons of CO₂ emissions.
