Martial Machines' Murky Miasma & Climate's Muted Myopia

The world's militaries produce an estimated five point five percent of global greenhouse gas emissions but face no obligation to report or reduce them. This exemption dates back to the Kyoto Protocol of 1997 and remains in place today. Organisations including Tipping Point North South and the Conflict & Environment Observatory are pushing the United Nations to close this gap. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has developed a reporting methodology, and several nations are now expanding their military emissions disclosures.
