Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has announced a comprehensive plan to achieve net-zero carbon emissions from its operations by 2053. The strategy mandates a significant 43% reduction in specific emissions by 2037 as a key interim goal. To facilitate this transition, the company will invest $2.1 billion, primarily to shift production towards electric arc furnace technology & explore the use of green hydrogen.
