JFE’s Jurisprudence Juxtaposes Carbon Capturing & Cinder

JFE Steel has started operating a new demonstration facility that tests a technology for capturing carbon dioxide. The process uses steelmaking slag, a byproduct of production, to chemically bind and permanently store CO₂. The system works by injecting the gas into hot slag, which converts it into a solid mineral. This project is a key part of JFE Steel's strategy to develop breakthrough technologies for reducing industrial carbon emissions.
