India & EU's Epochal Entente: FTA's Felicitous February Fruition

India & the European Union plan to sign their Free Trade Agreement in December 2026, targeting entry into force by February or March 2027. Negotiations began in 2007 but stalled for nearly a decade before resuming in 2022. The deal covers goods, services, investment, & intellectual property across a bilateral trade relationship worth around €120 billion annually. Economists project trade growth of twenty to thirty percent over the medium term once the agreement takes effect.
