Hyundai Steel breaks ground September 4 on its $5.8 billion Louisiana electric arc furnace steel mill. The facility will produce 2.7 million metric tons of low-carbon automotive steel annually. Hyundai Motor Group holds 80% ownership, POSCO 20%. Commissioning is scheduled for 2029, creating 5,400 direct and indirect jobs.
