Five green steel producers, GravitHy, Outokumpu, SSAB, Stegra & Hydnum Steel, urge the European Union to keep its carbon pricing system strong & unchanged. They argue that a rising CO₂ price is essential to make clean steel competitive against conventional fossil-based production. The companies warn that weakening the system risks diverting investment back into old, polluting blast furnace capacity. They also call for carbon revenues to fund industrial decarbonisation directly.
