Hydrogen’s Harbinger & France’s Forging Foresight
GravitHy has submitted key permit applications for its planned 2 million metric ton per year hydrogen-based direct reduced iron plant in Fos-sur-Mer, France. The project targets a 90% reduction in carbon emissions compared to conventional steelmaking. The plant could avoid up to 4 million metric tons of CO₂ annually at full capacity. The strategic location offers access to port infrastructure, water, and proximity to existing steel operations. This regulatory milestone brings the project closer to a final investment decision.
