Perpetual Price Parity: Germany's Pellucid Power Pledge

Germany's steel industry has secured a 50% electricity subsidy for 2026 after the European Union approved the parallel use of two support mechanisms under its Temporary State Aid Framework. Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl Director General Kerstin Maria Rippel welcomed the move but stressed that permanent reform is essential. She called for a stable all-in electricity price of around €50 per megawatt-hour to protect competitiveness & support the sector's green transition.
