Fiscal Foresight & Flora Fidelity: EU Urged to Safeguard Green Spending

The Climate Group, supported by 62 other firms and non-profits, has urged the European Commission to maintain its current climate & biodiversity spending levels in the post-2027 EU budget. The appeal emphasises that dedicating 30% to climate action & 10% to biodiversity is vital for sustaining clean energy progress, reducing health risks, and preserving Europe’s ecological & economic resilience. These investments are viewed not merely as environmental obligations but as essential pillars of competitiveness and long-term growth.
