Swedish startup FerroSilva uses forest residues to make fossil-free sponge iron. The process achieves negative emissions and avoids heavy electricity use. Partners include Sveaskog and Ovako. A plant at Hofors is planned for 2026, targeting 50,000 metric tons annually.
