Germany's Feralpi Stahl has partnered alongside renewable energy developer Juwi to explore wind energy projects in Central Saxony. The memorandum of understanding envisions two wind farms comprising eleven turbines, each generating approximately 20 million kWh annually, potentially operational by 2029. This collaboration aims to supply renewable electricity to Feralpi's steel mill & rolling facilities in Riesa, reducing carbon emissions from energy-intensive metallurgical processes. The initiative forms part of the Energy & Hydrogen Alliance, established by major industrial companies in 2022, collectively representing substantial regional energy demand.
