France's Formidable €63B Offshore Wind's Felicitous Fruition

The European Commission approves €63 billion in French state aid to build and operate eleven offshore wind farms across the North Sea, Mediterranean, and Atlantic. The twenty-five-year programme will deliver up to eleven point one gigawatts of capacity and forty-seven point eight terawatt-hours of annual clean electricity, meeting ten point six percent of France's electricity needs. Support is delivered through bilateral contracts for difference via competitive tenders, approved under the Clean Industry State Aid Framework adopted in June 2025.
