The European Commission opens a four-week public consultation on rules for selling & redeeming Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism certificates on the Common Central Platform. The draft act covers platform procedures, registry management & declarant fees. Comments are accepted from 9 July to 6 August 2026. The consultation runs alongside the European Parliament committee's push to expand the mechanism to downstream products & tighten anti-circumvention rules from 2028.
