Ecolant's Epochal Endeavour: Russia's Green Steel Genesis

Ecolant is set to launch Russia's first large-scale direct reduced iron and electric arc furnace steel plant in Vyksa, Nizhny Novgorod, in the fourth quarter of 2026. The facility will produce one-point-eight million metric tons of steel annually, at emissions nearly three times lower than conventional blast furnace production. The two-point-four-nine-billion-dollar project will create over one thousand skilled jobs and generate six-point-four billion roubles in annual tax revenues, targeting premium steel for oil, gas, transport, and machinery sectors.
