CLEPA's Clarion Call: Europe's Embattled Auto Ecosystem Entreats Equity

Europe's automotive suppliers are sounding the alarm. The industry body CLEPA warns that without stronger EU policy support, Europe could lose up to three hundred and fifty thousand manufacturing jobs by 2030. Chinese component imports into the EU hit eight point two billion euros in 2025, flipping the trade balance from a seven billion euro surplus to a deficit in just five years. CLEPA is calling on EU lawmakers to ensure the Industrial Accelerator Act genuinely rewards domestic production and closes loopholes that benefit subsidised foreign imports.
