China publishes an Action Plan to peak carbon emissions between 2026 and 2030, targeting a 17% reduction in CO₂ per unit of GDP from 2025 levels. The plan raises the non-fossil fuel energy share to 25% and commits to meeting all new electricity demand through clean energy. It also pledges one hundred zero-carbon industrial parks, five hundred zero-carbon factories, and a hydrogen pilot programme to decarbonise steelmaking by reducing green hydrogen costs.
