The price of Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism allowances in the second quarter of 2026 is set to stay near €74 to €75 per metric ton of CO₂, matching the first-quarter level of €75.36. The European Commission announces the official price on 6 July 2026. From February 2027, importers of steel, cement, & other carbon-intensive goods must buy allowances to cover their 2026 imports.
