BHP, Rio Tinto & Caterpillar are trialling two battery-electric haul trucks at BHP's Jimblebar iron ore mine in Western Australia's Pilbara. The trucks have completed over one hundred hours of operation & more than two hundred test laps in early testing. The trial evaluates static & dynamic charging solutions to support large-scale mining decarbonisation. BHP targets a thirty percent cut in operational emissions by 2030.
