ArcelorMittal's ATRACKSYST steel traceability project has passed its pilot phase at the Gijón wire rod mill in Spain, achieving a ninety-six percent correct identification rate across one hundred and forty-four randomly selected billets. The system also expanded to cover blooms and cross-facility material tracking during testing. Developed under Spain's Perte recovery programme, the initiative supports ArcelorMittal's decarbonisation targets by enabling precise material history tracking and more efficient, sustainable production across its Spanish operations.
