ArcelorMittal and Moeve have signed Spain’s largest Energy Saving Certificates deal. The agreement covers 2.1 terawatt-hours of annual energy savings. This is ten times larger than any previous domestic transaction. The deal supports ArcelorMittal’s new electric arc furnace in Gijón. The project will cut emissions by one million metric tons of CO₂ annually. The savings represent more than five percent of Asturias’ total energy consumption. Both companies view this as a decisive step for industrial decarbonisation.
