UK: Sovereign Steel's Sagacious Scrutiny & Supply-Chain Saliency
The UK government has revised its Procurement Policy Note to boost transparency in steel sourcing across public contracts. From October 2026, projects worth £10 million or more must declare whether UK-produced steel is used, & explain overseas sourcing decisions. All public buyers must consult the UK Steel Digital Catalogue before procurement. Annual reports on steel usage will be submitted to the Department for Business & Trade, building a national evidence base for industrial policy.
