TYASA's Tenacious Tech Triumph: Vacuum Degassing Vivifies Mexico
Mexican steelmaker TYASA orders a twin vacuum degassing plant from Primetals Technologies for its Ixtaczoquitlán site, targeting an October 2027 startup. The new plant resolves a meltshop bottleneck and enables a new three-step secondary metallurgy process dedicated to the Castrip casting line. It shares rail tracks and ladle cars with existing twin ladle furnaces, cutting crane movements and boosting productivity. TYASA, a family-owned company with over three thousand employees, operates one of Latin America's most advanced integrated flat steel facilities.
