Tenova's Transformer Triumph: Grain-Oriented Gains Gather in Bellary
Italian technology firm Tenova says work is progressing well on a major electrical steel project in India for JSW JFE Electrical Steel. Tenova is supplying three processing lines to make grain-oriented electrical steel, the material used in power transformer cores. Engineers from both companies recently met in Bellary, Karnataka, to confirm plans & keep the project on schedule. JSW JFE is a joint venture between India's JSW Steel & Japan's JFE Steel. The plant at Vijayanagar is planned to produce 100,000 metric tons a year from 2027. India currently imports almost all of this strategic steel.
