Sour Wells, Local Steel: Tenaris Brings Its TN 95EY Grade to Canadian Soil
Tenaris has started making its TN 95EY steel pipe grade at its plant in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The grade is designed for deep oil and gas wells with high pressure, high temperature and corrosive hydrogen sulphide, conditions found in western Canada's Montney and Duvernay formations. Making it locally required new production, testing and tracking procedures. The move follows more than C$300 million of investment in the Ontario plant and the opening of a service centre in Fort St. John, British Columbia, letting Tenaris supply Canadian operators with domestically made premium pipe at a time when tariffs make local sourcing more attractive. Capacity and orders were not disclosed.
