SMS group will build two travelling grate pelletizing plants in Hebei Province, China. The plants will serve Ganglu Iron and Steel and Jinan Iron and Steel, both part of Jinan Steel Group. The facilities will produce 2.4 million and 2.7 million metric tons per year. SMS will deploy its optimized cooling system in China for the first time. It reduces fuel use by up to 20% and off-gas by over 30%. Commissioning is set for late 2027.
